Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager specializing in real estate to join our team on a contract basis in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting ongoing accounting operations, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires, and refining processes for financial reporting and month-end procedures. This position requires strong expertise in general ledger management, financial analysis, and utilizing NetSuite software. Responsibilities: - Develop and document detailed processes for journal entries, bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. - Perform month-end close activities to support the team until new staff are onboarded and trained. - Review the work of newly hired accounting staff to ensure accuracy and completeness. - Manage partnership accounting activities, including investment transactions and capital activity. - Monitor and report revenue from real estate properties, ensuring accuracy within the property management system. - Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with standards. - Analyze financial performance of real estate assets to provide insights and recommendations. - Collaborate with the finance team to create accurate forecasting and budgeting models. - Utilize NetSuite software for financial transactions, reporting, and process improvements. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. - Background in private real estate accounting, including partnership tax and capital activity. - Expertise in preparing year-end financial statements and related reporting. - Proficiency in conducting bank reconciliations and managing roll forwards. - Skilled in creating and posting journal entries with attention to detail. - Familiarity with NetSuite enterprise software for accounting and financial reporting. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. - Experience with Form 1099 preparation and compliance requirements.
