Junior PHP Engineer

Description:

Under general supervision, the Cabinet Maker I is responsible for preparing and applying finishes to aircraft furniture following aircraft specifications, designs, and engineering drawings. The role emphasizes safety, quality, precision, and productivity.

Typical duties include preparing and disassembling aircraft furniture for finishing using blueprints and design drawings; performing high-quality repairs on finished surfaces; cleaning and polishing blemishes; applying finishes using spray equipment and other manual or mechanical methods; utilizing various tools and materials; and operating hand and power tools for disassembly and finishing.

The position requires compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and using material tracking systems to manage parts and completed work.

Additional duties involve collaborating on process improvement using Lean Six Sigma techniques, reducing costs, minimizing cycle time, and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications is required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift. Computer literacy is required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of wood finishing experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.

Skills: Basic knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products. Experience with the use of various tools and materials involved in cabinet finishing.
