Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer (Senior) is responsible for deploying and managing scalable, resilient infrastructure across multiple cloud service providers. This subject matter expert configures and maintains Linux-based environments, supports dynamic web services, and implements automation tools to streamline infrastructure and application management. The role requires proficiency in scripting, containerization, and continuous integration/deployment architectures, along with a strong working knowledge of open-source monitoring and configuration management tools.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Deploy and configure services using cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, and RackSpace/OpenStack.
  • Configure and manage Linux-based servers to support dynamic web services and enterprise applications.
  • Debug and maintain performance across cluster-based computing environments.
  • Use scripting or basic programming techniques to automate tasks and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Install, configure, and manage open-source monitoring tools to support system visibility and performance.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt.
  • Design and support architectures for continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and continuous monitoring.
  • Utilize containerization platforms such as LXC, Docker, or Rocket for deployment and environment consistency.

Requirements

Required Minimum Education

  • Education should be consistent with experience. Relevant experience and professional certifications can outweigh the need for a formal college degree

Required Years of Experience

  • 8 years of relevant professional work experience

Required Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, etc.

  • Fully Adjudicated Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance or greater
  • Experience with Linux based environment administration
  • Experience testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and administering infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity
  • Experience developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs for cybersecurity

Preferred Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, etc.

  • Experience integrating third-party components, the introduction of new custom capabilities, modification of existing code, process improvement recommendation, and automation of operations and maintenance tasks
  • Experience with Splunk, Oracle/SQL based platforms, and python (P)
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
  • AWS Certified Cloud Pracitioner
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate
