Job Description

As a Meat Cutter, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality meat products to customers. You will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing meat in accordance with established standards. Your attention to detail and knowledge of different cuts of meat will ensure that customers receive the best products. Additionally, you will maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the meat department.

Meat Cutter Responsibilities

1. Cut, trim, and prepare different types of meat (beef, pork, poultry, etc.) according to customer preferences, portion sizes, and quality standards.
2. Package and label meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper handling and storage to maintain freshness.
3. Follow established guidelines for sanitation and cleanliness, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and work areas regularly.
4. Receive and inspect meat deliveries, checking for quality, freshness, and proper temperature maintenance.
5. Maintain accurate inventory records, alerting management to low stock levels and assisting in the replenishment of meat products.
6. Provide exceptional customer service by answering customer inquiries, offering advice on meat selection, and addressing concerns or complaints.
7. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, or cross-contamination while handling meat.
8. Collaborate with other team members, such as butchers and deli staff, to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices in meat cutting techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.
10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.

Required Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Proven experience as a Meat Cutter or in a similar role within a grocery store, butcher shop, or meat processing facility.
3. Certification in meat cutting or a related field is preferred.
4. Knowledge of local and federal food safety regulations.
5. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
6. Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
7. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Night & Weekend Availability Required

Shifts Between 4-6 Hours
