Software Test Analyst

Description:

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding project scope and working with the Business Analyst to ensure adherence to the objectives set for the project.
- Responsible for adhering to the project schedule by developing test cases and completing Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) in accordance with the schedule.
- Work with User Acceptance Test (UAT) testers and conduct UAT training sessions along with Business and Product Owners.
- Appropriately resolve critical IT issues as it pertains to the QA role.
- Ensure all QA responsible SEM documents identified for the project are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with area processes.
- Participate in requirement meetings and functional design document review meetings to understand the requirements.
- Work closely with Business Analyst and Business/Product Owner to clarify requirements.
- Prepare test data and ensure the QA environment is ready for test case execution, including interfaces.
- Responsible for defect management including identification of QAT defects and remediation tracking by maintaining the traceability to user story.
- Work with Product Owner to set defect severity and assist with backlog prioritization throughout the project.
- Facilitate defect triage meetings as necessary.
- Work directly with Tech Leads and Developers to ensure understanding of defects are clear and understood.
- Work with UI/UX Designer to assist with adding defects and providing input for usability, as necessary.
- Work closely with QA Specialist on complex projects and unique deliverables for the projects.
- Provide information and analysis for Go/No Go project decisions.

Requirements:

Experience And Skillset Required:
- 3 to 5 years of manual testing experience.
- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile project teams.
- Certification in Quality Assurance testing or 24 semester hours in IT coursework.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze, identify problems and defects in software applications.
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
