Job Title: Surgery Scheduler

Location: Pensacola, FL

Job Overview:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and managing surgery schedules for our providers while also assisting the front office staff with administrative and patient-facing tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and can thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures with patients, physicians, hospital operating rooms, and surgical centers.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their surgery, providing pre and post-operative instructions and answering questions.

- Maintain an updated and accurate scheduling system, addressing any changes or conflicts promptly.

- Obtain insurance verification and pre-authorization for all surgical procedures and testing.

- Provide compassionate and clear information to patients regarding their surgical experience, addressing any questions or concerns.

-Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records related to all surgical procedures, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

-Serve as a backup for the front desk with answering phones, greeting patients, and other administrative and clerical duties. 

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.

- Prior experience in ophthalmology scheduling or administrative roles within a healthcare setting is preferred.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proficiency in computer applications and scheduling software.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.
