Your Responsibilities:
Estate Planning & Drafting: Draft wills and trusts, and advise clients on strategies to avoid probate and minimize tax impacts
Wealth Transfer Strategies: Provide guidance on wealth transfer techniques such as GRATs, CRUTs, Dynasty Trusts, and tax-efficient charitable giving methods
Post-Death Administration: Manage probate and trust administration, including Heggstad petitions, affidavits, sub-trust funding, and accountings
Charitable Giving: Counsel clients on charitable giving options and assist with the creation of charitable foundations
Litigation Support: Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and discovery responses. Participate in depositions, mediations, and trials (litigation experience is a plus)
Tax Reporting: Prepare and report gift and estate tax transactions, including Forms 709 and 706
What We're Looking For:
Juris Doctor degree and admission to the State Bar of California
Minimum of 8 years of experience in trust and estate planning, administration, and litigation
Strong knowledge of wealth transfer techniques, including GRATs, CRUTs, and Dynasty Trusts
Experience in post-death estate administration and preparing tax-related documents
Expertise in charitable planning and foundation establishment
Excellent academic credentials, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Litigation experience in Trusts & Estates is highly desirable
